The Department of English plays a vital role in developing communication skills among students and also others who desire to prepare themselves for career and higher education. The Department came into existence with the establishment of college in the year 2014. Since then, English language is taught in all the four programs which started initially. English literature is also one of the subjects in all the 3 classes of B.A. program. Later BCA was introduced in 2018 and thereafter communication skills are being taught in this program as well. The greatest strength of the department has been the teacher student intimate relationship that has kept the department alive. The socio-cultural background of the students, many of whom are the first- generation learners from poor and backward families, is a major drawback for the development of the department. The lack of sufficient number of teachers is a great hurdle in the path of imparting quality education.
However, the Department of English takes an essential responsibility for helping students develops their ability to use English well in all their studies and also, the Department resolves to make its modest contribution to the society.
