About The Department
Mohan Lal Jain (Mohan Bhaiya) Govt. College, Khursipar, Bhilai, District – Durg(C.G.) came into existence in year 2014-2015. B.Sc. Part I (Mathematics) started with the opening of college. B.Sc. Part II and Part III started in the next coming years 2015, 2016. Post graduate program was introduced in 2017-2018 with 20 seats and 11 students user admitted in 2017.
Vision of the Department
The vision of the department of mathematics is to generate skilled mathematical mind with all scientific aptitude of knowledge based society. We feel that it is a continuous process to provide mathematical application not only to pure and natural science but also to commerce, economics and social sciences.
Mission of the Department
Our mission is to create undergraduate and post graduate students with strong skills and knowledge of mathematics. To create stakeholders with both basic and applied mathematical knowledge. To generate interest among students for scientific validation of traditional Indian mathematical knowledge. To generate interest for mathematical science among youngster right from school level to research level.
Course Outcome
A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics aims to enhance student’s program – solving analytical skills, provide a strong foundation in core mathematical concepts like algebra, calculus and differential equations and develop their ability to apply these principles to real-world problems. Key outcomes include proficiency in solving various equations, understanding abstract structures and developing skills for further science, data science, finance or research.
An M.Sc. in Mathematics course outcome focuses on developing deep understanding in pure/applied maths (Algebra, Analysis, ODEs, etc.), enhancing problem- solving/analytical skills, enabling mathematical modeling, fostering research aptitude for PhD/NET/GATE, and preparing students for careers in data science, finance, research etc.
